Director of Photography for Film, Music Promo & Commercial
Welcome to my website!
I am a Director of Photography, shooting Drama Feature Films, Short Films & Web Series. I also shoot Documentaries, Music Promos, Commercials and a wide range of corporate films.
I’ve had my work screened world wide in Film Festivals, on broadcast television and some projects have over a million views on YouTube.
I shoot across all cinema formats & cameras, specialising in digital 35mm camera operating & lighting.
I’m happy to shoot any style that a project needs, as well as emulating work previously created. But I would class my personal style as shooting with large soft sources, and new LED lighting technology. Combining them with natural light because I can’t get enough of it’s unbeatable quality. This has become my main style of lighting over the last few years.
I love to shoot reactively, not quite in a documentary style, but hand held and following the story as the locations reveal themselves and as the actors explore the space they are in.
I’ve been lucky enough to shot films across the UK and Europe, working with local and foreign crews.
Alongside this, I also teach Cinematography and Film Production. Which has become one of my favourite things to do. I love working with new ideas and new ways of thought, and students bring that in the bucket load!
I am currently Lecturing in Cinematography and Film Production at the University of Lincoln.
Where I run regular Workshops and Masterclasses in Cinematography and the creation of Media in all aspects of Media & Film Production.
I also coordinate the final year project modules for the students studying BA Media Production & BA Film & Television. I am also a key member of the team creating a new BA Film Production course, which will start in September 2018.
Take a look around my site, check out my work and read what I have to say in my Blog.
Don’t forget to get in touch if you have any shoots coming up where you need a Director of Photography or Camera Operator.
